THEY ASKED
First, TVG has a loyal fan base. This endemic audience lives and breathes horse racing and heads to the track religiously. However, they’re not particularly tech savvy. TVG asked for our help encouraging the die-hards to download the TVG app, and bet anytime, anywhere.
Second, TVG wants to attract a relatively untapped newcomer audience. These gamblers are vaguely aware of horse racing, and only engage with friends for big races like the Derby. TVG asked for our help explaining that horse racing isn’t that complicated, and horse races take place year round.

We came up with a few different ad campaigns. Each idea was designed with two different flavors: one to appeal to the die-hards, and the other to appeal to the newbies.

Even if you don’t have a lot of experience betting on horses, we can all relate to how good it feels to win.

Newbie Audience
TVG gets more new customers on Derby Day than on any other day of the year. So it’s important to make hay with people who don’t have a lot of experience betting on horses.

If you can’t get to the track to place your bets, that’s fine. The TVG app allows you to bet anytime, anywhere.
